There will be an evening at Stanford in commemoration of the late great poet Alexei Parshchikov (an earlier related post on this blog: Loveable, 7:00pm, Thursday, January 21st, Stanford University, Building 320, Room 105, free admission. Among the participants — such truly exceptional people as Lyn Hejinian and Michael Palmer, Marjorie Perloff and Mikhail Epstein, Ilya Kutik and Andrew Wachtel, Eugene Ostashevsky and Jukka Mallinen. For those in the Bay Area, it’s a rare opportunity to listen to some of the best American and international poets, translators and literary scholars pay tribute to a bona fide genius of Russian poetry — and indeed, an infinitely loveable human being — gone much, much too soon…
