A PROPOS OF NOTHING: YEAH, HE’S THE REGULAR CARTIER-BRESSON

 At a charity auction in St. Petersburg, a photograph taken by Dmitry Medvedev, which depicts the Tobolsk monastery, was sold for 51 million rubles [approximately $1,700 000 — YT], according to Fontanka.Ru (www.fontanka.ru).

The person who agreed to fork out this sum for President’s photograph turned out to be Mikhail Zingarevich, member of the board of directors of the Ilim Group, Inc. 

The black-and-white photograph depicting the Tobolsk monastery, was taken by Russia’s head of state from aboard the helicopter and was only placed in the lots last evening. Its original price was the same as all other works put up for auction — 20 thousand rubles [$660 — YT]
