Baratashvili, sometimes referred to as “the Georgian Byron,” was 24 when he wrote this poem, and he died at the age of 28.

Georgia is one of the world’s most wondrous and welcoming places. Its people are uniquely hospitable and multi-talented. Yours Truly hasn’t visited it since… oh, well over a quarter-century ago. He yearns to go back there again.
